DESCRIPTION BENEFITS QUESTIONS General Description JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CORRECTIONS WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST! The Corrections Warehouse Specialist role is a civilian position located at the Land O' Lakes Correctional Facility.
The role is responsible for operating a medium sized warehouse.
Work involves the purchasing, ordering, receipt, storage, issuance, and accountability of items required for jail operations.
Essential Job Functions Responsible for planning, organizing, stocking and coordinating activities of a medium sized warehouse.
Requires considerable initiative, independent judgment, and the application of extensive technical knowledge of materials, supplies, and equipment maintained within warehouse and storage area.
Responsible for receiving, issuing, and storing tools, machines, equipment, chemicals, and other jail supplies.
Establishes and maintains inventory control records; delivers and retrieves equipment and supplies.
Prepares specifications and obtains quotes necessary for the procurement process.
Submits requisitions and facilitates purchases for materials, supplies and equipment.
Recommends repairs or disposal of damaged, depreciated, worn or obsolete stock.
Complies with storage requirements in accordance with safety and accreditation standards.
Assists in budget preparation, utilizing reporting mechanisms to track departmental purchases and expenses.
Provide statistics, and reconciliation of accounts monthly.
Requires lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling heavy objects.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of materials, supplies, and equipment used within the warehouse or storage areas Knowledge of clerical and financial record keeping Knowledge of general office practices and procedures to include filing/record keeping Ability to create spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel Ability to create budgets, procure supplies and maintain inventories Ability to obtain equipment certifications (OSHA, Forklift, Pallet Jack) Ability to perform mathematical computations Ability to evaluate specifications and quotes Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions Ability to operate a department computer and related software Minimum Requirements PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and push or pull heavy objects.
May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.
) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects.
Ability to drive a forklift and use pallet jacks/stackers.
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
Ability to stand, kneel, twist, crouch, climb and stoop.
Work performed in a correctional office setting with routine inmate contact.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND
Experience:
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and five (5) years' experience responsible for purchasing, expense tracking, inventory control, and warehousing required.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Must be able to pass Florida Department of Law Enforcement FCIC/NCIC Limited Access User test.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
